One of the best things about travelling is the uncertainty; not knowing who you’re going to meet, where exactly you’re going to end up or the spontaneous adventures you’ll have along the way! I’ve said that many times before and I’ll say it many times again.
This trip has only been underway for about 24 hours and is already proving to be an interesting adventure. Some time last evening about 10 miles away from the EuroTunnel Mac and I pulled into a service station for a desperately needed evacuation of bladders and consumption of coffee. In this service station we were approached by two girls, Ellen and Alex (18 & 19), dressed as green dragons holding a sign saying ‘Hitchhiking to Paris from Edinburgh for charity’ during the conversation we learned this was an annual race held by Edinburgh Uni with over 60 pairs of first year students taking part all supporting different charities.
After a brief chat at adjacent urinals Mac and I decided what the hell, it’s for a good cause and we’re going via Paris anyway! And thus begun many hours of conversation learning about each other, exchanging travel stories etc! A very fun and unexpected start to the trip!
Hope you get to see the Eiffel Tower before you head home girls!
Next stop Málaga, if we drive non stop we will be there by 10:00am tomorrow which allows us 5 hours before Connie’s flight lands. Mac and I are currently taking it in turns driving while the other sleeps so we can drive through the night.
See you soon Spain 🇪🇸
